Minot State University
What do you get when beards, bands, and brains collide? A few gray-haired men with glasses who really know how to live life? No. You get Beardstock 2017, the festival that raises the hair on your face as much as that awesome way you headbang to music. And this year, slap on some sculpting cream, because Beardstock has a fresh new look. March 25, Minot State University’s Hartnett Hall will be filled with the usual live music, delicious free food by MAGIC CITY HOAGIES, beard contests, THE BEAST sandwich contest, beard-selfie photo booth and more. But this year, for the first time ever, Beardstock will have breakout sessions, speakers, and hands-on events like screen printing, lip sync battles, build-a-beard with Bob Ross, and even a build-a-beard photo contest for your dog. And the best part of it all? It’s bearding for a cause. Beardstock was formed as a creative way to help raise awareness about the ever-pressing issue of homelessness in the Minot community and beyond. Our vision statement? To create a platform to make social injustices known through music. Now that is a bea-u-diful thing. Check out the bands, schedule of events and ticket information on www.iamrtl.com/beardstock. Admission is $15 ($5 OFF for military and college students with a valid ID. So whether you’re representing homelessness awareness, head-banging appreciation, a love for beards, the perfect beard-selfie, or the finger-lickin’ FREE food, Beardstock 2017 is for you.
