Stirring up Hope Art Auction for the Domestic Violence Crisis Center
6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Clarion Hotel & Convention Center 2200 Burdick Expressway E, Minot, ND 58701
Why Stirring up Hope? We have had a number of artists design and repurpose wooden spoons. A wooden spoon is a simple item most of us have encountered and have a memory of. However, not all of us have the same memories, some are positive and some are not. You may have cooked with a parent and have great memories of stirring spaghetti sauce with that loved one, or you may have something sad or scary associated with it. The artists use the spoon as it is, and add to it or change it, and it develops a new identity much like the people who come to the DVCC New Beginnings Campus.
People arrive following a circumstance that victimizes them, through empowerment, services, support, and a lot of work on their own, they transform through resilience.
