07 Jan News Release: Minot CVB rebranded as Visit Minot
New name and look captures Minot’s evolution as a growing, modern city
January 7, 2013 (MINOT, ND) – The Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau proudly announced today the launch of its new brand – Visit Minot. The new name is part of a comprehensive rebranding initiative that also includes a new eye-catching logo, website and message: We’re ready for you.
The decision to rebrand was made in large part due to the Magic City’s booming economy and surging population, which are transforming the community into a modern city with more attractions and amenities than ever before. According to Visit Minot Executive Director Wendy Howe, these changes were the catalyst for the rebranding initiative.
“Every city has a convention and visitors bureau that acts as that community’s tourism agency. But what we want to communicate to the public is not only our purpose but also the spirit that drives us to connect people to Minot. Our new name aligns our identity with our purpose,” says Howe.
“Our new message is both an invitation and a statement of fact,” says Howe. “Visitors to Minot have never had so many options to choose from. The message simply says it all.”
Howe points out that the new look represents the energy of the community and where Minot is headed.
“The dynamic changes taking place in Minot inspired our new look. We’re becoming a more vibrant city with more and more attractions while, at the same time, playing a larger and larger role in the region’s economy. The new colorful brand image represents this. It’s simple, immediately recognizable, and truly representative of the city; everything you need in a new brand image.”
Visit Minot’s revamped content-rich website was designed with both visitors and long-time residents in mind. The site showcases everything the Magic City has to offer, serving as a one-stop information center. Users can personalize information to fit their interests and travel needs. Specially customized trip agendas helps visitors manage their time through the Map Your Trip feature. A mobile site for phone users provides a quick, easy way to locate venues and gather event information.
“We’re thrilled with the changes,” says Howe. “Your brand is the face you present to the world and we feel that Minot’s brand has never looked better.”
