30 Aug Meet Visit Minot’s Newest Staff
Visit Minot (formerly known as the Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau) is pleased to welcome two new members to its staff – Niki Carlson and Vanessa Stepan. Niki is taking the reigns as our Director of Sales and Vanessa is the new Communications Coordinator.
Niki Carlson comes to Visit Minot with a wealth of experience in administration, event planning and fund management at First Western Bank & Trust and the Minot Area Community Foundation. As a former Program Director for the Minot Area Community Foundation, she was entrusted to represent the Foundation amongst civic groups, assisted in acquiring sponsors and vendors for Foundation events, worked project management coordination for community events, and was accountable for the planning, implementation, and disbursements of a multimillion dollar fund, including the Minot Area Recovery Fund.
In her personal life, Niki is married with two boys, with another expected to arrive in September 2013. She enjoys frequent trips to Lake Metigoshe and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Boston Celtics.
Vanessa Stepan is a graduate of Syracuse University, with a dual degree in Marketing Management & Finance. She worked as a Social Media Strategist at DEI Worldwide (a digital marketing agency) in Los Angeles, CA, with clients that included Royal Caribbean, Smirnoff and Kraft. She also worked independently as a Social Media Consultant with recording artists Jason Reeves, Daniel Bedingfield & Joe Brooks. Vanessa moved to Minot one year ago with her husband, who is stationed at the Minot Air Force Base.
What Vanessa says she loves most about Minot is “The people!” “As a new spouse in the Air Force community,” Vanessa says, “I was graciously welcomed with open arms to the city of Minot and immediately felt at home. Of all the Air Force bases people have been stationed at, I always hear that Minot Air Force Base has the most tight-knit sense of community. I guess it’s true that ‘Only the Best Come North!’”
