05 Jan Minot Glowing Up
Minot is glowing up. Located in charming Downtown Minot is a new glow-in-the-dark mini-golf attraction, the Putt District. The Putt District has brought an awesome activity to Minot and its visitors that can be enjoyed year round.
The Putt District is the only indoor mini-golf course in Minot, and one of just two that can be found in the entire state so far. It is a nice change from the ordinary “swing” of things.
Owner Eric Thoemke says the putt putt course is like no other as it is non-franchised and designed completely originally.
Thoemke said it is important to him to add a sense of “cool” to his own community, and the Putt District is a great extension of that desire.
The 14-hole course is lit by just black lights which makes which makes the original, graffiti-style artwork on the walls glow. The cleverly designed holes keep players on their toes and having a (golf) ball the entire game.
After the game of golf, players can head down to the lounge. The lounge has snacks and pop for purchase, and tables to lounge on. Downstairs also has a large clubhouse available for rent. The clubhouse has large table space, fun arcade games, pool and foosball.
The space is perfect for birthday parties, office outings, or whoever wants to get together and do something fun.
Owners of the Putt District have big ideas for expansion. After the immediate success of the Putt District in Minot, ideas of new locations in Fargo, Bismarck, and Grand Forks are in the works.
However, the Minot location itself may not be done expanding. The Putt District is located in the heart of downtown Minot at 17 Main St S. A unique trait of downtown Minot is that it is home to historic tunnels that connect some of the buildings and are large enough for people to walk along. The Putt District accesses a tunnel that connects to the Tap Room of downtown Minot. In the future, this tunnel may be open to the public for use.
The Putt District is also looking to begin implementing league play, tournaments, and other special events that you’ll want to keep your “eagle” eye-out for. To stay up-to-date on their events find them on Facebook here.
Fun times are sure to be had at the Putt District. Bring your family and friends and enjoy getting out of the house to do something fun in the winter. You’ll be glowing with happiness when you leave the Putt District.
