It’s spring! Which means summer is right around the corner.
Souris Valley Sabre Dogs
The Sabre Dogs are a collegiate summer baseball team. 2018 was their first year in Minot and made it to the playoffs! Also, Corbett Field (where the Sabre Dogs play) won the Best Ballpark of 2018. Be sure to catch a game in 2019. Check out their website to get tickets!
Farmers Market
The Minot Farmers Market is great way to support local growers, bakers, and makers. The market is open twice a week from end of June through October. There’s not a better place to find your produce!
Movie in the Park
The Minot Park District puts on Movie in the Park a few times every summer. It is a great way for the family to get out and enjoy some time together in the fresh air!
Ribfest
Minot has hosted Ribfest for the past few years. If you’re from the south you will really appreciate this weekend event. The 2019 Ribfest will not only have ribs, but live music, and Monster Truck Thunder! Check out their page for more information.
Midsummer Night Festival
The Midsummer Night Festival is hosted by the Scandinavian Heritage Association. Midsummer is celebrated largely in Sweden. Legend has it that the night before Midsummerβs Day is a magical time for love. The festival will be on June 19th this year in the Scandinavian Heritage Park.
Roosevelt Pool
The Roosevelt Pool is Minot’s only outdoor public pool and has a slide over 1,000 feet long. The pool is a great way to get outside, get a tan, and burn off some energy. Also, at the end of every summer season, the pool hosts a doggy pool party.
MSU Summer Theater
Located behind the Minot State University Dome, MSU Summer Theatre performs multiple plays and musicals each June and July and has since 1965. This year’s lineup includes; Mamma Mia, June 12-17, Cash on Delivery, June 27-July 1, Big Fish, July 10-16, and Beauty and the Beast, July 24-28 and July 30-August 3.
Live Music @ Spicy Pie
There’s just something about sitting outside listening to live music during the summer. Spicy Pie is the recipe for a perfect summer date night with pizza, grinders, beer, and live music.
Walking Paths
After work, you might feel like your night goes by too fast. Slow it down with a peaceful sunset walk on one of the many walking paths located around Minot. Find a trail near you here.
North Dakota State Fair
The NDSF is the largest event in the state of North Dakota, so it’s kind of a big deal. Over 300,000 people attended the NDSF in 2018! The 9-day event has food, shopping, rides, and entertainment of all kinds. Learn more here.
