Summary

Visit Minot has a unique employment opportunity to help grow team events and meetings/conferences in Minot.

 

The Team Events and Meetings position performs the sales contacts required to solicit and book team events, sport tournaments, conventions, and other events for the Minot area. Those efforts will result in increased hotel occupancy, media exposure and promotion of the city as a destination. Additionally, this person will work with the local sports teams to foster an environment conducive to holding sporting events. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, this person will work to develop incentives and a willingness among the host groups to create successful events.

 

This person will work community-wide to raise support for Minot as a team events and meetings destination. They work directly with hoteliers, sports committees, stakeholders, and convention planning groups and reports directly to the Executive Director.

 

This is a full-time position with benefits, but consideration will be given for the ideal candidate if part-time (30 hours/week) is preferred.

 

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field from an accredited college or university OR equivalent related experience.

A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in marketing, public relations, tourism, hospitality, sports or related field.

Knowledge of principles and practices of sales including negotiation, influencing ability, and sales training.
