Minot Symphony Orchestra Concert: Remarkable Farkle McBride
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Minot State University Ann Nicole Nelson Hall 500 University Ave W, Minot, ND 58707
Come join us for our family concert at a new time of 3pm! No youngster misses out on the fun! We will feature Copland’s 1938 Outdoor Overture, which was originally billed as “American Music for American Youth”. Travel with the Remarkable Farkle McBride in his quest for the perfect musical instrument to play. Take a trip to sunny Italy with Capriccio Italien, a piece Tchaikovsky described it as “delightful tunes which I have succeeded in assembling partly from anthologies, partly from my own ears in the streets”. And speaking of Italy, be ready to be blown away by one of the most famous tone poems by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi called Pines of Rome. We will also feature this year’s young concerto competition winner!
