Hwy 2 Brewery Tour

Explore North Dakota breweries east to west on Highway 2

DAY 1: MINOT

Take in the North Dakota scenery at Pointe of View Winery

Just west of Minot, Pointe of View Winery sits only 7 miles outside the city and offers sweeping views of the rolling prairie hills. Here, you’ll find award-winning rhubarb wine and a wide selection of wines made from native fruit and on-site grapes. While visiting, enjoy free tastings, relax on the outdoor deck, and stroll through the vineyard.

Grab a burger & brews at JL Beers

Next, stop at JL Beers for a classic burger and an impressive beer lineup. Their burgers are made with fresh ingredients, including ground beef, chicken, fries, and chips sourced from “someone’s backyard.” In addition, this cozy spot features more than 40 beers on tap, including many local and North Dakota favorites. Because of this, it’s easy to find a brew that fits your taste.

Sip on a locally brewed beer at Atypical Brewery

Afterward, head downtown to Atypical Brewing, a dog-friendly brewery known for its barrel-aged sour ales. Notably, it’s a World Beer Cup award winner housed in a restored 1920s service station. While you’re there, enjoy trivia nights, food trucks, and occasional live music. Be sure to try their cult-favorite brew, London Fog.

DAY 2: DEVILS LAKE

Lunch at Proz End of the Line Bar and Caboose
To start the day, grab lunch at Proz End of the Line Bar and Caboose. This lively spot features 24 beers on tap, over 16 TVs, and games like darts, pool, and foosball. When the weather cooperates, head outside to the Tiki Bar and Patio to enjoy homemade pizza and soak up the sunshine.

Visit the Black Paws Brewing Company

Later, stop by Black Paws Brewing Company to sample house-brewed beers, regional drafts, and ciders from across North Dakota. Meanwhile, relax with board games in a laid-back setting. After your visit, take a walk through downtown Devils Lake to explore local shops and Bridgestone Park.

Dinner with a Lake view at Proz Lakeside at the Cove
In the evening, enjoy dinner at Proz Lakeside at the Cove for a true lakeside dining experience. This friendly neighborhood pub offers indoor seating, a patio, a bar, and firepit areas. While dining, take in views of the lake and enjoy fish or pasta dishes. On warm summer nights, live music at nearby Bobbers adds to the atmosphere.

Day 3: GRAND FORKS

Lunch at Rhombas Guys Brewing Company

On your final day, stop in Grand Forks for lunch at Rhombus Guys Brewing Company. Located in the historic Metropolitan Opera House, this 15-barrel brewhouse serves house-brewed IPAs, sours, and stouts. Additionally, their pub menu includes Angus burgers, Scotch eggs, and crispy Brussels sprouts.

Stop by Brick and Barley for a Brew

Established in August 2013, Brick & Barley has a true taphouse focus. They create fresh and delicious food items that pair well with the 48 quality beers we offer on tap. Many of the taps are year-round favorites, and a large majority are rotating taps that feature craft brews from smaller breweries around the region and country.

Dinner and entertainment at Half Brothers Brewing Company
Locally inspired beers, creative pub food, and live music come together in this downtown taproom and 10-barrel brewery run by two brothers.
