What to Expect

This season brings some serious horsepower to Nodak Speedway, with national tours like the World of Outlaws Late Models and the INEX Legend Car Dirt Nationals making stops in Minot. From seasoned pros to rising stars, these events draw big names and bigger crowds.

Located on the North Dakota State Fairgrounds, Nodak Speedway races nearly every Sunday from May through August, with special events continuing into October. Dirt track racing here is fast, loud, and packed with adrenaline—featuring everything from dirt modifieds to high-powered sprints sliding through turns and battling for the checkered flag.

2025 Season Highlights

Race season begins at Nodak Speedway with a double-header, opening weekend on April 26 & 27.

NOSA Sprint Cars | May 4

Kick off racing season with high-speed thrills and nonstop action. Watch the NOSA Sprint Cars as they tear around the track with incredible speed and control. These open-wheel racers are built for dirt, using massive top wings to help them grip the turns and fly through corners at jaw-dropping speeds.

Memorial Day Weekend | May 25 & 26

Spend the holiday weekend with a double-header. On Monday, the track honors service members with Military Appreciation Night, featuring patriotic tributes and high-energy races.

World of Outlaws Late Models | June 29

Watch some of the best dirt track drivers in the country go head-to-head in the The World of Outlaws Late Model Series. Returning to Minot for the first time since 1989, this race features powerful, purpose-built race cars that tear through the track at incredible speeds. Featuring big-name drivers like Bobby Pierce, Nick Hoffman, and Ryan Gustin, putting it all on the line on a national tour.

Fireworks Special | July 4

Catch a full night of dirt track action before settling in for the largest choreographed fireworks show in North Dakota—all from your seat in the grandstands. Come for the racing, stay for the fireworks, and make it a weekend with the Dakota Classic Modified and Stock Car Tour on Sunday, July 6th, featuring drivers from across the nation.

Demolition Derby | July 21

Feel the adrenaline as cars collide, crash, and spin out, all while the crowd roars watching drivers from across the regions at the only demolition derby of the season. Come early to check out the North Dakota State Fair, grab some food, and enjoy the atmosphere.

All-Stars of August

Every Sunday in August features tribute races, big wins, and special moments. The month wraps up with Motor Magic, a three-day race weekend (Aug 29–31) over Labor Day that’s full of food, vendors, and non-stop track action.

INEX Legend Dirt Nationals | Oct 9-11

Small cars, big talent. Watch drivers from across the country compete in this national championship event for the INEX Legends class—fast, tight racing with lots of action. This is the first time Minot has hosted this event.
