Spend your Fourth of July in Minot

Celebrate Independence Day in Minot this fourth of July! Plan your day with special events happening only on July 4th or fill your weekend with summertime and outdoor activities in Minot. Whatever you enjoy whether is it a night out on the town, a stroll through a nearby trail, or fun for the whole family, you are sure to find several options over the Fourth of July weekend!

Fourth of July Festival

Food trucks, live music & yard games at Roosevelt Park from 12pm-3pm on July 4th! This is free to attend, more on the patriotic festival here.

Off to the Races

Watch as the cars fly by and cheer for your favorite at the Nodak Speedway racetrack. Races start at 7PM on July 4th. Or catch the Special Race at Magic City International Dragway from July 1-3!  

Watch the Fireworks

Experience the Independence Day Fireworks Special at the North Dakota State Fair Center. The show begins after the Nodak Speedway races, around 10:45 at the Fairgrounds. This is free to attend!

Celebrate before at Thursdays Downtown! – International Brass Quintet/Minot City Band on June 30the more l. Bring the whole family downtown for free live music, arts & crafts, food trucks, vendors, games & more! Catch some music on July 3rd during Sundays in the Park! Dakota Drifters @ Oak Park – concert starts at 7pm, so bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the free music under the trees.

Cool Off & Explore

Roosevelt Park Zoo is open 9AM to 8PM daily. Get up close and personal to a few animals during wild happenings. You can feed the giraffes at 11 & 2, visit the goats at 12:30, and at 3 meet the sloth! Feeling a little warm, cool off next door at Roosevelt Park Pool! Experience the two newer waterslides! Open 1-8pm Friday through Sunday and 12-5pm & 6:30-8:30 on Monday-Thursday. Then head to Radio City Park or Oak Park and enjoy the splash pads for free! If you’re feeling competitive, play a game of volleyball at Oak Park! Discover more parks to enjoy here.

It is patio and rooftop season in Minot! Grab a cold one and bask in the sun on the rooftops at High Third, or Sports on Top! Sit outside on the patio (some dog friendly) savor a meal and converse with friends, and discover all the best spots here.

Go to a Game or Show 

Baseball games over the fourth of July weekend on July 2nd and 3rd. Head to Corbett Field and watch a Souris Valley Sabre Dogs game, get a hotdog, and try to catch a foul ball! Day Trip near Minot 

Looking to spend the day at the beach, just a short 45 min drive to Nelson Carlson Lake and you’re set! The amenities include a swimming beach, fishing pier, BBQ pit and tables, with swing set and volleyball court. Before you leave, rent a kayak from Minot Parks for only $10 per day. Enjoy your kayak over the weekend for $30 with a paddle and lifejacket included.

Immerse Yourself in History & Culture 

Walk through the beautiful Scandinavian Heritage Park – tour the buildings M-F from 9-4! (Not open on July 4th). On Saturdays, learn about the regions Arial history at the Dakota Territory Air Museum, or the impact of the railroad on Minot at the Railroad Museum. For more history, step back in time at the Pioneer Village Museum in Burlington (closed July 3rd & 4th).

Get Out and Walk 

There are many trails in and near Minot of various levels of intensity and length. Find your perfect trail here. Interested in urban walking, Minot has a fantastic historic downtown full of shops, restaurants, and the arts – beat the pavement and catch all of the murals and street art, use this map to guide you!
