Atypical Brewery and Barrelworks creates uniquely flavored craft beers inside of a remodeled service station in downtown Minot. After the brewing process, they’ve partnered with area farmers to use their spent grain to feed pigs, chickens, cows, etc.
Tip: Their “Gin & Spruce” Beer, made with local tree needles and aged in a reused gin barrel, was awarded a Gold Medal at the Word Beer Cup.

Close Up Encounters
At Roosevelt Park Zoo, you can encounter red pandas, tigers, and other endangered species. Get up close and personal at the Giraffe Feeding Station, where you can hand-feed a giraffe. Proceeds directly support conservation efforts.
Fact: Named after President Theodore Roosevelt, a life-long nature lover, who was inspired to preserve the environment after his ranching experience in the North Dakota Badlands.
