Description: The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) and the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) have prioritized reducing exclusionary discipline and supporting the implementation of evidence-based practices that focus on prevention, intervention, and behavioral strategies. During this session, participants will learn about the latest federal guidance documents (released in 2022) as well as how to apply these considerations during the evaluation and IEP process. Resources to support positive behavioral intervention will be shared.
