What I love about Minot

“I’m a North Dakota girl and Minot has been my home for over 20 years. For me, Minot is the perfect size community. It’s small enough so I can get to any place in town within 15 minutes but large enough to have access to excellent shopping, dining, and entertainment options. I love the grit that the people of Minot have! We are a resilient community that has survived and thrived through some tough times. The future is bright in Minot and I’m grateful to call it home.”

What I love about Minot

“As a proud military spouse, originally from South Carolina, I must admit that I was very upset when my husband let me know we were being stationed in Minot, ND.  What I have discovered though is that this town absolutely does not deserve the unfair reputation it’s been given. Coming from a city of almost half a million, I was resigned to losing out on the restaurants, conveniences, and things to do, that I had grown accustomed to.  However, one of the many things that pleasantly surprised me when I arrived was the abundance of delicious restaurants, variety of shopping, and a list of events and goings-on, that could rival the “big city” that I came from.  More than anything though, I fell in love with the people of Minot. I discovered a helpful and pleasant demeanor throughout all of my interactions around town, from our shop owners and public servants to my coworkers and neighbors.  It did not take long before I started to feel less like I was at a stationing and more like I was at home. I adore the people of Minot and I have fallen in love with the small-town feel while appreciating the big town amenities.  The kindness and welcoming nature of this community has been overwhelming and not only am I excited to be a part of this amazing, growing place, but am proud to call Minot my home.”

What I love about Minot

“Born in Minot, raised elsewhere in North Dakota, I returned to the Magic City after earning my bachelor’s degree. I frequently get asked why I choose Minot – which gives me space to share everything this big, small town has to offer. From a thriving and growing art scene to a downtown bursting with shops and places to experience different flavors. I can change my view by choosing a different park to walk through or driving a little out of town and enjoying my time in a small nearby community. Additionally, Minot has given me an overwhelming sense of pride for my Scandinavian culture. I have decided I am here to stay after buying a charming house where I live with my husband, baby boy, dog, and cat.“
