The thirteenth Annual North Central Veterans Stand Down is scheduled for October 17, 2024 from 10:00 to 2:00 in Minot at the Armed Forces Reserve Center located at 3420 2nd Street Northeast.

We would like to invite you to SAVE THE DATE and join us for the day as we reach out to the Veterans of North Central North Dakota.

The original Stand Down for Veterans was modeled after a concept used during the Vietnam War to provide a safe retreat for units returning from combat operations.

At secure base camp areas, troops were able to take care of personal hygiene, get clean uniforms, enjoy warm meals, receive medical and dental care, mail and receive letters, and enjoy the camaraderie of friends in a safe environment.

Stand Down’s afforded battle-weary soldiers the opportunity to renew their spirit, health and overall sense of well-being.

Our goal is to fill the Armed Forces Reserve Center with agencies, organizations and educational materials that would benefit our Veterans and Service Members.

Flu shots will be available, and a free meal will be served.
