This 1.5-mile trail, just off the 83 bypass, is pet-friendly and nicely shaded area. Wide trails allow for safe and easy walking. Experience the Souris River’s ecosystem up close with foot access to a fishing pier on the river.
Oak Park | Within Minot
Oak Park features 1.5 miles of neatly groomed, shaded trails. There are benches and picnic tables along the route, and leashed dogs are welcome! There are designated van-accessible parking throughout the park.

Northwest of Minot, you’ll find the Outdoor Recreation Area, an accessible paved and gravel path of 5 total miles of trails, featuring a variety of native plants and animals.
Bison Plant Trail | 10 Minutes from Minot
Head out on this 2.3-mile loop trail that passes by the Souris River. Bison Plant is considered an easy route, taking an average of 40 minutes to complete. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
Denbigh Experimental Forest | 40 Minutes from Minot
Denbigh Experimental Forest has a 3-mile loop that winds through the surrounding prairie. This trail is completely gravel with mile markers for trail guidance.
